One task at a time. Each word moves through six stages:

  1. Preview — Encode meaning, sound, and shape before testing.
  2. Recognize — Multiple choice before production.
  3. Components — Radicals and structure (chunking).
  4. Trace — 田字格 / 米字格; 描红 then blank grid.
  5. Recall — Retrieval with delayed answer.
  6. Read — Word in a short phrase.

Memory review: Wrong recognition, rough trace, or Recall Again/Hard adds the word to a saved review list. The next session pulls those words toward the front of the queue. Complete a full loop with no slips to clear that word from the front-load list.
